Stasys Eidrigevicius, most widely known for his graphic design, presents the different and intriguing body of his photographic work at Thomas Masters Gallery. Stasys' nudes grapple with the absurd and the illogical, hindered or hindering one another through their machinations. Handmade props and down-to-earth bodies add a patently staged feel to these images; they seem to be scene shots from some theatrical play of the incongruous. At the same time, the self-conscious quality of the posed image ends up working to advantage, underscoring the commentary on the human condition. Evoking everyman, caught up in struggle, accommodation and folly, these photos stick with you. At Thomas Masters Gallery through Feb. 28. At Thomas Masters Gallery through Febrary 28, 2009.
